Mad Because Things Didn’t Go Like You Planned?

Have you ever been sure you were doing the right thing and have it blow up in your face? Your well-thought-out plan imploded, and you’re pulling your hair out, wondering why. You aren’t alone. It happens to everyone. How you handle it will dictate the results.
I was sure my husband and I were supposed to sell our bar and grill and purchase a bed and breakfast. Our marriage almost ended because of his drinking. If I hadn’t gone to an Al-anon meeting and watched a Joyce Meyer video on codependency, we would very likely not still be married, and my husband might be dead.
I knew Tommy was an alcoholic when I followed my dream of owning my own place and purchased Johnny’s Bar & Grill in Hollister, California. I was managing a bar when I was 19 years old. As a single mother at 17, I got my first job as a cocktail waitress and found the bar business paid well because of the tips. Considering the fact that you aren’t supposed to serve alcohol in California until you are 18, and you can’t pour cocktails until you are 21, I was an early starter.
