Thank you for this beautiful post. I was just reading an old post of mine about eating Gravy Train dog food because of fear of our stepfather. I was going to add it to the Digging up Bones pub, but now I'm debating doing a good edit on it and re-submitting it to MP. I wasn't able to add a title to the old post. You've inspired me to start fresh. It's sad that, as kids, we had to worry about being punished for things like drinking water when thirsty and knocking over a bag of dog food. 😔
