We Snowbirds Aren’t Used to This Cold Weather (It’s Going to Get Colder)
Day two on the job. Let the painting begin.
We spent the last four winters in Florida because we don’t like the cold. Our Northern California home was too cold for us. We’re such cold wimps. We had to stay west this year because of Tommy’s dental work in Algadonas, Mexico. He got his temporary denture with implants in March, and we returned in October for the permanent one. Traveling to Mexico through Yuma, Arizona, for dental work saved us thousands of dollars. However, it meant we found ourselves on the wrong side of the country as winter was hitting.
It’s been between 36 and 44 degrees in the morning and warms up into the 60s in the afternoon. That’s not too bad for our pals here from Wyoming and Michigan, but it’s COLD for us California escapee snowbirds.
It’s too cold to walk before our 8:00 a.m. start on our RVICS schedule. Thankfully, today, I wracked up more steps working. We started painting, and I made trips back and forth to the motorhome for necessities that added to the distance.
The first trip was for baggies to put the outlet covers and screws into so they wouldn’t get lost or misplaced. Then I needed my knee pad. I was assigned to paint the…
