RVICS Volunteer Experience Palacios — final post #5

Time Flies When You’re Having Fun & Giving Back

Another volunteer assignment is in the books

The sunrises in Palacios were amazing. I started every day with a walk along thr gulf. It was such a blessing.
My final sunrise photo. I have so many, but I couldn’t resist.

Three weeks at the Texas Baptist Encampment went by so quickly. The variety of projects we tackled kept our stay from being monotonous. Two of the couples are spending March at Palacios also. Our fearless leaders, Chris and Helen, were again signed up to be directors. However, we got a prayer request from Helen, who has health issues. At this time, I’m not sure if leadership changed because of it. 🙏 😥

If you are a praying person, please put Helen on your list. She’s a hard worker and I know she will be disappointed if she can’t lead the new team.
Helen and Chris getting instructions to pass on to the team.

Our new pals, Byron and Lois, are putting in another three weeks at Palacios. They are both struggling with health issues of their own, but they aren’t letting them stop them from pressing on as volunteers. One of the wonderful couples we worked with at the Highland Lakes Camp and Convention Center in Spicewood, Texas, is joining the team. We’ve only completed three assignments, and we’ve made so many wonderful new friends.
