I used Kindle to publish my memoir. I did a ton of marketing, and my notoriety as the owner of a historic biker bar helped my sales. However, I spent about $4000.00 between editors, cover design, and formatting with CreateSpace. I learned a lot from the experience. I would do some things differently the next time around. I'm not sure how much I've earned from my book at this juncture, but I know when I quit marketing, my book died on the vine at Amazon. I'm planning on doing a promotion to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of publishing Born Again in a Biker Bar and hoping I can fire up the sales again. I still sell copies in my travels, but not enough to make much money. I may try writing an e-book and give Kindle another go. I won't spend as much money as I did on my memoir. Thanks for sharing your experience.
