I think you should have been straight with him. I would have to. Some people can't smell their own body odors. Telling people they smell is never easy. When I owned my bar I had a couple that played darts every Tuesday and they made everyone uncomfortable with their body odor. I had to tell a bartender that he needed to do something about it. As I said, it's not a fun experience. Sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do. :)
