I wish I could count the times I’ve written an “About Me” post for one publication or another. My life has evolved in more ways than I could ever have imagined, with a multitude of changes in less than four years. I read fellow writer and Bootcamp Course member Dr. Sarah Lyall-Neal’s “about me” post for Medium and loved her format, so I’m going to copy it for my post. Our life stories are very different, but we have plenty in common as writers. Thanks for the help, Sarah.
Wife
I met my husband, Tommy, in 1989. We had one of those whirlwind romances where we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together almost immediately. We moved in together within a couple of months of dating. We bought our first home in Hollister, California, in 1991, and were married on July 24, 1993. We’ve beaten some crazy odds, but after more than 32 years together, we are more in love than ever. God gets all of the credit. Without Him, there is no way we would have made it.
My son Allen was 12 years old when I met Tommy. As any parent knows, kids at that age are coming into their own, becoming more independent, and sure that they know everything and we parents know nothing. As a single baby-boomer parent, I wanted my son to have everything I didn’t…
